Okazu is a versatile chili-sesame oil condiment with extra umami from miso. It's made by our friends Jess & Fumiko of Abokichi in Toronto. We've been in love with Okazu even before Moo Shu was born! Anytime we found ourselves in Toronto, I'd be sure to stock up on several jars. These jars are 230mL. At home, we use it wherever chunky-style chili oil or hot sauce was used. Try it on eggs & rice, pizza, grilled veggies, and of course dumplings (with a splash of black vinegar)! Keep refrigerated after opening.
Heat Level: Mild-Medium
sunflower oil, sesame oil, garlic, miso paste (organic soybeans, rice, salt), tamari (non-gmo soybeans, salt, sugar), organic cane sugar, chili powder, white sesame seeds, chickpea flour. (made without gluten!)
