Shift Leader (Full-time, permanent) | 1130 Wellington St. West

In a nutshell: Make each shift as smooth as it can be for the whole team!

Shift Leaders in our store are responsible for keeping service running smoothly for our staff and customers. With a big picture of peak hours, to-do lists and product movement, they anticipate and delegate tasks while leading by example. Shift Leaders set the tone of warmth and efficiency during their shifts and help to make sure other scooping staff are working well, having fun and providing great service. Potential management opportunities in the future with this role.

We are currently looking specifically for a full-time Shift Leader to cover afternoon to evening hours (inclusive), and are anticipating a January start.

Responsibilities:

• Provide knowledgeable customer service, prepare cafe beverages and fare, and scoop ice cream
• Conduct end-of-day duties such as cleaning, inventory management, and counting cash
• Potentially scooping and serving at an off-site event or pop-up.
• Support Shop Ops Manager in maintaining store ops systems
• Consolidate and delegate daily tasks & breaks
• Monitor, encourage, train, correct staff with awareness and attention to detail
• Be a good role model for positive work culture

Requirements:

• Previous food service or retail experience.
• Able to work on your feet for 8-10 hours with energy and warmth.
• Able to work evenings and weekends to close the store (note we are specifically looking to fill a evening Shift Leader position.)
• Comfortable working with a face mask.

Preferred:

• Valid drivers license
• Food handlers certificate
• Leadership/Management experience
• Comfortable with digital admin technology (web & phone apps)
