Each ice cream flavour at Moo Shu is thoughtfully dreamed up and made in small batches. We love to collaborate with Ottawa's talented farmers, brewers, jam makers and roasters, to name a few, offering flavours that are memorable in their novelty, nostalgia, and ability to highlight our local ecology.

Current Job Openings:

We are looking for a Shift Leader who will become our Store Operations Manager in fall 2021. Applications close November 8, 2020.

Shift Leader (full-time, year-round)

In a nutshell: Make each shift as smooth as it can be for the whole team!

Shift Leaders in our store are responsible for keeping service running smoothly for both scoopers and customers. With a big picture of peak hours, to-do lists and ice cream turnover, they anticipate and delegate tasks while leading by example. Shift Leaders set the tone of warmth and efficiency during their shifts and help to make sure other scooping staff are working well, having fun and providing great service. Potential management opportunities in the future with this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Store Ops Manager in creating & maintaining store ops systems
  • Consolidate and delegate daily tasks & breaks
  • Train, monitor, encourage, and correct staff with awareness and attention to detail
  • Be a good role model for positive work culture

Requirements:

  • Able to work on your feet for 6-9 hours with energy and warmth
  • Able to work evenings and weekends

Preferred:

  • Previous food or retail experience
  • Food handler certification
  • Leadership/Management experience
  • Comfortable with digital admin technology (web & phone apps)

Store Operations Manager (full-time, year-round)

Please Note: We are not hiring directly for this position. We are looking for a Shift Leader (see above) who will become our Store Operations Manager in fall 2021

In a nutshell: Lead the way among your team of shift leaders, creating new and improved systems for staff and costumers. Oh and don't let the place burn down.

The Shop Operations Manager is responsible for keeping service running smoothly for shift leaders, seasonal scoopers and customers. Like a shift leader, they possess a big picture of peak hours, to-do lists and ice cream turnover, they anticipate and delegate tasks while leading by example. In addition, they manage product and packaging inventory, monitor quality control, and are in close communication with ownership and kitchen team. Like a shift leader, the Shop Operations Manager maintains staff morale and helps to make sure shift leaders and scooping staff are working well, having fun and providing great service. We are looking for someone who is able to see opportunities for how our operations can adapt as we continue to grow. This position is perfect for someone who likes to take initiative and has a creative approach to problem solving.
